Big Ten Hockey Preview: Wisconsin at Penn State – Along the Boards

The Nittany Lions, alongside Michigan and Minnesota, hold the best chance at an at-large NCAA tournament berth among Big Ten teams. Currently tied with St. Lawrence and Western Michiganfor 21st in the PairWise rankings, they can ill-afford a costly loss to Wisconsin.

The Badgers have played an effective role of conference spoiler as of late. They have picked up points in three of their past four series, but rarely play a threat outside of the cozy confines of the Kohl Center.

Penn States explosive offensive unit should have a field day against what has been an inept Wisconsin defense. Badgers goaltender Joel Rumpel has done all he can do, but even his stellar play in between the pipes hasnt been enough to stymie potent forechecks.
