Big Ten Hockey Wrap: Minnesota, Michigan State rising – Along the Boards

4. Penn State

The Nittany Lions entered the weekend two points back from Michigan, in second place, but failed to separate themselves from the rest of the conference. They simply could notcrack the code that was the Spartans tricky neutral-zone trap and Hildebrands stellar netminding.

Every team goes through a slump, and this one comes after the Nittany Lions had gone unbeaten in their previous eight games. After what has been such a spectacular season for head coach Guy Gadowsky and company, it would be a massive disappointment to flounder at this stage of the year.
