The Gophers hockey team dropped the first game of a big weekend Big Ten series at Penn State 3-2, Friday night. Vince Pedrie’s overtime goal ended the game at the 3:57 mark of overtime. The win pulled Penn State even with Minnesota in the Big Ten Conference point standings. After a scoreless first period, the Nittany Lions scored twice in the second on goals from Andrew Sturtz and Zach Saar. Minnesota rallied in the third on a pair of goals from Brent Gates.
