Collegian – My view: Pegula big for local hockey fans and sorts

The first time I ever laced up a pair of skates, it was in Greenberg Ice Pavilion at the young age of 5.

I learned how to skate under the god-awful yellow lights of that rink, using a walker, and while I grew up 45 minutes away from State College, Greenberg will always be special to me.

Fast-forward to 2013, and I haven’t played hockey since my senior year of high school. Greenberg still had those yellow lights, but it’s no longer the home of hockey in State College.

Now, it’s Pegula Ice Arena, and for a local kid that loves hockey, I could not be more excited.
