Collegian: Penn State captain Tommy Olczyk furious after uninspired loss to Vermont

PHILADELPHIA — With the sting from a sloppy 5-2 loss to Vermont apparent in his eyes, Penn State captain Tommy Olczyk called for a drastic change in the team’s mentality Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.

"A lot of guys, including myself have got to look in the mirror and figure it out here," Olczyk said.

In the four games since defeating Army 4-1 on Oct. 11, the Lions have scored just eight times. After grabbing a two-goal first period lead at the Wells Fargo Center, Penn State surrendered five straight goals.

"It’s hard to swallow," Olczyk said. "Giving up five unanswered goals, it’s unacceptable."
