Collegian: Penn State hockey optimistic after 3-2 loss

Just as quickly as Terry Pegula could donate $102 million to build an ice arena, expectations started building.

When would Penn State become a hockey power? When would Guy Gadowsky’s Nittany Lions become one of the movers and shakers in the college hockey world? When would Penn State start knocking off Wisconsins, Michigans, Boston Colleges and UMass Lowells?

Those were some of questions fans asked about the future of Penn State hockey.

Friday night, fans of the team that is still in its infancy might have had its first taste of that.
