At the tail end of what has been a disappointing season, the Gophers men’s hockey team heads into its final series with an opportunity to win a second consecutive Big Ten regular-season title.

But then, three other teams in the six-team league also have title hopes.

For Minnesota, it’s less about winning a fourth straight crown — it won the WCHA in 2011 and 2012, as well — and more about improving its NCAA tournament credentials.
