Michigan Hockey drops Big Ten opener against Penn State

Michigan scored less than a minute into the game, as Shuart knocked in a rebound from a shot by sophomore Kevin Lohan to give U-M the 1-0 lead 46 seconds in. The Wolverines drew a tripping penalty minutes later, but couldn’t convert on the power play despite several close chances. Senior Brennan Serville was whistled for holding at the 6: 16 mark, and the Nittany Lions took advantage and scored on the power play to tie the game.
