Penn State ice hockey team draws inspiration from THON

Penn State was unable to hold off a battle-hungry Northern Michigan squad in the second of a two-game series between the two teams on Saturday — the teams played to a 5-5 tie — but the Nittany Lions could still celebrate in a different sense.

Saturdays game was Penn States annual THON Game as well as the second annual teddy bear toss that took place during the second intermission. Fans could bring new or gently used teddy bears to toss on the ice and every bear would be donated to THON and included in welcome packages for Four Diamonds families upon arrival for THON weekend.
