UML took a 2-0 lead after the first period and locked it down from there. Penn State would not waste any time getting on the board in the second period as Casey Bailey scored for the Nittany Lions just 17 seconds after the faceoff. The third period saw Penn State score its second of the game at the 11: 12 mark as Tommy Olczyk deposited a backhander past Boyle.
