SC.com: Government Shutdown Won’t Affect Season Opener Against Army

Penn State hockey avoids a scare as it turns out that Army actually will take on the Nittany Lions next Friday at the Pegula Ice Arena.

The game was in question because of the government shutdown.

The PSU-Army game is not only the season opener but the first Division I men’s hockey game in the new $90-million dollar facility. A Penn State spokesperson now confirms that the game will take place.
