No. 11 Penn State at Michigan State

Drew: Even with home-ice advantage, I don’t like Michigan State against a team that shoots the puck as much as Penn State does. To steal a win the Spartans are probably going to need a 50-save performance from their goaltender. Could it happen? Sure. Am I going to predict it happening? No.

Paula: The Spartans have been this close in many games this season, including in their two home losses to Ohio State last weekend. I have to agree with Drew here, though; the Nittany Lions are capable of overwhelming opponents, and I don’t have any reason to believe that won’t be the case in this series. Penn State swept Michigan State handily at home in mid-January. Like the Buckeyes, the Nittany Lions cannot afford to drop two games this weekend; Penn State is a very uncomfortable No. 11 in the PairWise Rankings. Games begin at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. The Big Ten Network will have Friday’s game.

Drew’s picks: Penn State 5-2, 4-1.
Paula’s picks: Penn State 4-2, 4-2.
